Brunswick County is growing faster than almost any place in North Carolina. I am honored to lead a Sheriff’s Office committed to meeting that growth with professionalism, integrity, and a clear vision for the future.

Over the past decade, we have seen a dramatic increase in our population. This type of growth means a greater responsibility. I am committed to making sure our Sheriff’s Office stays ahead of the needs of our community.

My mission is simple: keep Brunswick County safe, prepared, and thriving.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Priorities:

1. Keeping Drugs Out of Brunswick County

As our county grows, so do attempts by drug traffickers to target our communities. Under my leadership, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office will continue taking a proactive, aggressive approach to stopping drug dealers. 

• Intelligence-driven drug enforcement
• Continue our strong partnerships with state and federal agencies
• Targeting dealers, not users
• Protecting our neighborhoods and families

Drug dealers have no place in our county, and we will continue to make that clear every day.

2. Supporting Recovery Through Anchor Initiative & ARROW

We are tough on drug dealers. We are compassionate toward those battling addiction. We have learned this is not a problem that can be arrested away. 

The Anchor Initiative – A life-changing program established in 2017 that helps individuals who are struggling with addiction and ready for treatment access recovery resources, treatment pathways, and long-term support.

The ARROW Program – A program established earlier this year that aims to help individuals in our detention facility who are struggling with addiction begin their recovery journey while in our facility and transition to other recovery programs after their release. This promotes stability, job readiness, and opportunities for successful re-entry into the community.

These programs aim to break the cycle of addiction, reduce recidivism, and strengthen families.

3. Recruiting and Retaining Quality Deputies

Brunswick County deserves the best and most professional law enforcement officers. Keeping pace with growth means building and maintaining a highly trained team.

4. Growing Our Community Programs

Serving as the Sheriff of Brunswick County means more than enforcing laws. It means showing up, staying connected, and strengthening relationships across the county.

We will continue to expand:

• Community policing initiatives
• Community outreach programs
• School Resource Officer presence
• Crisis intervention and mental-health response efforts
• Training exercises with the school system

We pride ourselves in not just working in the community but being part of the community.

5. Prepared for Hurricanes & Emergencies

Brunswick County faces annual storm threats. Preparation for extreme weather events saves lives. The Sheriff’s Office continues securing outside funding and grants to acquire:

• High-water rescue vehicles
• Emergency equipment
• Communication technology
• Specialized tools for disaster response

These life-saving resources keep our citizens safe, without burdening them as taxpayers.

6. Maintaining Strong Response Times

Rapid population growth can put a strain on emergency services. 

• We will continue to keep response times low and service levels high.

Through strategic staffing and resource expansion, we will continue providing prompt, effective response countywide.

7. Transparency, Accountability & Community Trust
